We use 100% recycled clay that’s been run through a pug mill. Our clay is mostly just sand based — we don’t get to use fancy stuff (like white clay/porcelain) until later semesters. As for kilns, we have lots of different kinds and fire in lots of different methods. Wood and electric are our primary kilns. We have one very tall one and then shorter ones, some outside and some inside. Some are intermittent and some aren’t. We also experiment with salt and soda firing often.

It IS! Whole wheat bread, provolone, and mayo with olive oil and cracked pepper. Divine.
